Obit sent by MarLa. Thank you MarLa.

James Harvey McGarry was born November 4, 1857 and departed this life on December 26, 1928, aged 71 years, 1 month and 22 days, and was a son of Dr. John McGarry, one of the old pioneers of Noble County.

He was united in marriage to Rhoda Love in the year of 1879 and to this union were born the following children: Samuel McGarry of Woodsfield, Ohio; Edward McGarry of Woodsfield, Ohio; Floyd McGarry of Woodsfield, Ohio; Mrs. C.E. Williams of Bessemer, Pa.; Caple McGarry of Woodsfield, Ohio; Harvey McGarry Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Harley Lee of Harrietsville, Ohio. William Henry, John and Nellie preceded their father to the great Beyond in their infancy. Also, he has twenty-two grandchildren to mourn his death.

He lived a good moral life and has so often stated that if the good Lord will treat him as he has had tried to treat his fellowman that he would be perfectly satisfied to meet his God. And he has so often quoted the following passage from the Golden Rule and which he practiced every day of his life. "Do unto others as you would have others to do unto you".

He never looked at the dark side of life, always in a good humor and joking and always had a good word for all with whom he came in contact.

He was born and reared on the present homestead and will be missed by his many friends.

He was a good husband and kind father.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Road Fork Baptist church in charge of Rev. Payton, Baptist minister of Caldwell.

He belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Stafford, Ohio, of which he was an esteemed member.

Mrs. McGarry and children certainly appreciate the kindness of the friends and neighbors in this hour of sorrow.

A Friend.
