DIED - Friday morning, Oct. 27th, Ida A., wife of C. B. Treadwell, age 47 years and 7 days.

We have sad news to chronicle this week. Those beautiful October days – when nature, with lavish hand, was laying her richest colors upon the canvas – have been saddened for us all by the removal of one who was an ardent admirer of beauty in all its forms. She was a true artist and her magic touch almost seemed to change

“Every weed into a flower,
Touch with beauty every bower.”

The death of Mrs. Treadwell has removed from the home, one from whom radiated love, cheerfulness, hope and encouragement to the family. It was twenty-one years ago that she came to North Bend a sunny winsome bride. She had not been among us long before we recognized in her a helpful member of society. Many of our boys will recall her work in the temperance cause, in which she was deeply interested, and the children of to-day may well mourn her loss, for in her they found a companion who entered into their joys, and was never happier than when actively engaged in promoting their pleasure. Among many other virtues she possessed cheerfulness – the health of the soul – which gives the sweetest, keenest relish to the very smallest events of life, and enabled her to meet its emergencies without a complaint, ever looking on the bright side. Thus she passed out from among us and we shall miss her in the church, in the Aid Society, in the Woman’s Club, and most of all in the home, for

“She did a deed, a gracious deed,
She ministered to those in need,
She bound a wound, she spoke a word
That God and all the angels heard.”

Woman’s Club.

The Woman’s Club met at the usual hour Saturday afternoon.

The president called the meeting to order after which a short memorial service was held in memory of their deceased member, Mrs. Treadwell. They then adjourned to the Methodist church where the funeral services were to take place.
