George R. DeHaven, 71 yrs., of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at The Gardens of Stevens, following an illness.

He was born on Sunday, January 11, 1948 in Ephrata, Pa. George was the son of the late George B. and Betty Rose (Rettew) DeHaven. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Hardy) DeHaven, with whom he would have shared 53 years of marriage.

George was a retired steelworker for W. C. Corp. He was a member of the Churchtown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed Nascar and stock car racing, camping, tractor pulls, and classic cars.

George was preceded in death two brothers, Walter and Kenneth DeHaven and a sister, Darla Ash.

He is survived in addition to his wife by two sons, Brian DeHaven of Ephrata and Bryan DeHaven of New Holland, a daughter, Patty Ann DeHaven of New Holland, five brothers, Kirk, Earl, George B., Jr. Edward and Stoney DeHaven and four sisters, Edna Kinsey, Robin Hartman, Cathy Kinsey, and Charlene Ross.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11 AM at Churchtown United Methodist Church, 2170 Main Street, Narvon, Pa., with Pastor David Kling officiating.
