TORRINGTON – Gary Lee Plaskett, 61, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was a longtime Torrington resident.

Gary was born in New London on November 14, 1958, son of the late Oscar Rarick and Shirley Plaskett. He had been employed by Terryville Chevrolet and Andy’s Tree Service.

He is survived by brothers Thomas Plaskett of Bristol, Dennis Rarick of Maryland, Paul Montembeault of Torrington; and sisters Rhonda Granja of New Milford and Christine Donovan of Torrington; and many nieces and nephews who loved Gary deeply.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, William, Francis and Buddy and sisters, Marjorie and Dawn.

Gary was a fun-loving man with a heart of gold, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington.
Graveside services will be in the spring at East Cemetery in Harwinton. phalenfuneral.com.
