Mrs. Gertrude A. Dommel, 81, of 209 E. Ross St., died at Lancaster General Hospital at 4:50 p.m. Monday after an illness of four days. She was the widow of Adam C. Dommel, who died in 1948. A lifetime resident of Lancaster, she was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and a charter member of Women of the Moose, Lodge 767. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Eichley Showalter. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Rittenhouse; two sons, Richard A. and Jay E. Dommel, all of Lancaster; three granddaughters; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. (Lancaster New Era - Mar 27, 1973)
