Sig was born on June 6, 1921 in Newcastle, Washington, to Ernest and Hilma (Gragg) Carlson.
He was the father to 3 children: Richard Matt Carlson, whose mother was Evelyn Matt Sollom of Grand Forks; and, dad to two children born to Sig and Laura: Daughter, Kay Rubio of Stockton, California; and son, Bret Carlson who passed away as a teenager.
Survivors include his son Richard (Beth); grandchildren: Bob Carlson (Tonelle), Jodi Carlson, Danial Carlson (Tracy); and, daughter, Kay Carlson Rubio and grand-daughter Erika (Ryan) Reeves of Stockton. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Kylie and Makenna Carlson, Isabel Carlson-Atwater, and Emilee & Luke Reeves, as well as extended families.
Sig served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII, then worked as a mechanic for Pacific Gas & Electric until retirement. He tinkered with old vehicles, and enjoyed traveling, as well as being out on his boat, and socializing at the local American Legion in Stockton. Sigfrid T. Carlson was a kind and caring gentleman who was proud of his family, and a good friend to all that knew him.
A private service took place last autumn, in Stockton, California.
