Revel C. "Spike" Bailey, 89, widower of Alice Lee Cunningham Bailey, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019. He was born in Shelby County on February 19, 1930 to the late Harvey and Myrtle May Tackett Bailey. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Revel was a member of Waddy Baptist Church and he previously owned the Half-Way House Restaurant, Lighthouse Liquors, and Big Top Warehouse in Shelbyville. He retired from General Electric and loved boxing and song writing.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Danny) Morton, Mt Sterling; his sons, Danny R. (Doris) Bailey, Frankfort, and Ricky Lee (Linda) Bailey, Frankfort; his 5 grandchildren, Bernice Lowry, Amanda Bailey, Christy Burge, Daren Morton, and Matthew Morton; 3 step-grandchildren, Jamie Vaughn, Shannon Thornton, and Angie Tingle; 7 great grandchildren; and his 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Angela Bailey.
Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Rev. Raymond Bailey will be officiating.
