Carol Ann Wicken was born in Morris, Minnesota, on February 22, 1946, the daughter of Clifford and Alice (Hagen) Hanson. She attended grade school in Herman, Minnesota and graduated from Herman High School in 1964. Carol continued her education at Alexandria Area Vocational Technical Institute in legal secretary training. After her graduation she was employed by McCarten and Tillitt Law Firm of Alexandria.

On November 27, 1965, Carol and Roy Wicken were united in marriage at Herman, Minnesota. After their marriage they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where they lived until 1970 when they moved to Alexandria. Carol was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.

Carol died at the Bethany Home on Wednesday, November 20, 1985, where she has been a resident for the past two years due to muscular dystrophy.

She is survived by one daughter, Amy, two sons, Anthony (Tony) and Aaron all of Alexandria; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hanson of Herman, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Cindy) Hanson of Bloomington; Mrs. Ron (Donna) Christians of Lake City, Minnesota; Jane Hanson of Ada, Minnesota; one brother, Vic Hanson of Tokyo, Japan.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 23, 1985, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Marvin L. Larson officiating. Pallbearers were Jerome VanKempen, Wallace Bloom, Paul Aslagson, Ken Hanson, Greg Hanson, and Jerry Hagen. Interment was at Lakeside Cemetery, Herman, Minnesota.
