Beatrice Marie Burdick of Bedford Twp., MI, passed away quietly while taking nap at her home on Monday, December 16, 2019 in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born March 23, 1928 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Harold Russell Parker and Zola Mamie (Crawford) Parker.
She was a machine operator for the Eaton Manufacturing Corporation until her retirement in May of 1981; she had been with Eaton’s for 31 Years. She had other jobs at: Barney's Bar & Grill in Bedford, MI as a cook; she had worked for Bob Angel at Springfield Tavern as bartender and cook; she was employed at the Third Base Lounge as a cook and bartender. For a short time she worked at Speed's in Urbandale. She officially retired from working at the age of 80.
She enjoyed staying around her home because of walking difficulties. She and her nephew Mike would on a yearly basis plan to go up to the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant to celebrate his birthday in August and her birthday in March.
She is survived by four nephews: Michael Moorehead of Battle Creek; Steve Moorehead of Miami, FL: Kevin Moorhead of Yorktown, Virginia; and Bryan Moorehead of Cisco, TX. A niece: Paula Parker of Kissimmee, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby boy: Michael Lee Thompson on Apr.15, 1946; both husbands: Frank Moorehead; and Ross Burdick died Jan. of 2012 and her sister: Gertrude Hudecek on Feb. 24, 2007.
There will be no scheduled funeral ceremony. Her family will have a private celebration later on. Her remains were donated to science at the University of Michigan Medical School. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service,
