ROCHESTER - A memorial service for Terry G. Drewes will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith United Methodist Church in Eyota, with the Rev. Deanna Woodward officiating.
Mr. Drewes, 51, of Minneapolis, formerly of Rochester, died of cancer Saturday (July 7, 2007) at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Terry Gene Drewes was born July 6, 1956, in Rochester, and attended Rochester schools. He worked as a manager for Pizza Hut for several years. He married Janelle Smith of Lake City, and they later divorced. In 1990, he married Tiffiny Burgesser. He was a self-taught woods craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, collecting swords from different eras, and target-shooting. He was always ready for a good laugh.
He is survived by his wife; three children, Tyler Drewes of Rochester, Amber Drewes of St. Paul and Michaella Drewes at home; five grandchildren; his mother, Marilyn Drewes of Rochester; three sisters, Sandy (Jim) Fitzpatrick of Viroqua, Wis., Marla (Bob) Drake of Rochester and Bonnie (Brian) Birchmeier of Clio, Mich.; and three brothers, Tony (Gloria), David (Chris) and Mark, all of Rochester. Other survivors include his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sue and Mel Benedett. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
