R.C., 80, of Lake Charles, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 20, 2019 in the Christus St. Patrick Hospital of Lake Charles with his loving family by his side. He was born August 23, 1939 in Oakdale to the union of Charles Clinton Andrus and Buna Vista (Rollins) Andrus.
In 1957, he graduated from Oakdale High School. R.C. was a Pentecostal by faith. He served as a chairman on the Allen Parish Tourist Commission for many years. Before retiring, he worked as a gate guard at Van Ply. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Buna Andrus; and sixteen siblings.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Alice Andrus of Lake Charles; two sons, Richard C. Andrus II of Anacoco and Philip D. Andrus of Leesville; the mother of his sons, Georganne (Aldridge) Andrus; two daughters, Jennifer Hyatt (Daniel) Stretcher of Jennings and Melanie Hyatt (Herman) Davis of Gulf Shores, Alabama; ten grandchildren, Tiffany Andrus (Jason) McFatter, Charles Edward (Alyssa) Andrus, Philip Kyle (Cara June) Andrus, Joshua D. (Katlyn) Andrus, Emily Stretcher (Stefan) Blanchard, Elizabeth Stretcher (Bryce) Fontenot, Daniel Emile Stretcher, Jr., Donavan J. (Anna) Jerles, Madison Paige Jerles and Shae Amberlyce Hyatt; seventeen great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be Richard C. Andrus II, Mike Goree, Steven P. Aldridge, Charles Andrus, Emile Stretcher and Daniel Stretcher.
Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Jason McFatter and Philip D. Andrus.
Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., then on Monday, December 23, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
