Funeral services were held Thursday, June 3, at 2 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel church at Rokeby for Lena Catherine Lidolph of Roca, who died at the Crete Manor in Crete Monday, May 31. She had been in failing health for the past two years, and was age 88 years, one month and seven days. Rev. Clarke Mundhenke officiated. Miss Terri Stevens accompanied Walter C. Robinson as he sang "Old Rugged Cross" and How Great Thou Art." Pallbearers were Bill Aden, John Aden, Elmer Block, Wallace Wunderlich, Stanley Winch and Marvin Krueger. Internment was in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lidolph was born April 24, 1888, at Sterling to Fokke and Annette Aden and was the youngest of nine children. She grew up in the Sterling and Adams area, and February 26,1913, she was married to Louis C. Lidolph of Adams. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1963.
Two sons, Lyle S. and Alvin A. Lidolph, and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy E. Fletcher, were born to the couple, a third son died in infancy.
Louis and Lena Lidolph resided in Lancaster county during their married life, where they farmed until his retirement in 1950. The Lidolph homestead was given the Nebraska Pioneer Farm award in 1975 for continuous ownership within the family for 100 years or more.
Mrs. Lidolph's interests were directed toward home, school and church activities. She was a member of the Trinity Chapel church.
Survivors include two sons, Lyle of Mishawaka, Ind. Alvin of Roca, a daughter, Mrs. Ellwin (Dorothy) Fletcher of Norfolk, a brother Gerhard Aden of Firth and six grandchildren.
Her husband, parents, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
