Marion D. Alexich “Alex,” 87, of Westerville, OH passed away suddenly at home on December 8, 2018. Marion was born in Barberton, OH on November 19, 1931. Marion was a man of service. He served honorably in the U.S. Army, was a Patrolman for the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Wooster, OH, Captain of the Worthington Police Department, and Chief of Police in Blendon Township, OH. Marion was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary E. Burnquist – Alexich; father, Milosav D. Alexich, Sr.; mother, Olga I. Dzmelyk – Alexich; son, Michael J. Alexich; brothers, Samuel and Milosav D. Alexich, Jr. Marion is survived by his daughter-in-law, Peggy Alexich; grandson Jacob; brother, Mladjan Alexich; sister, Olga D’Andrea; brothers-in-law Matthew (Kenda) Burnquist and Jack (Jean) Burnquist; dear friend, Cele Rix; and many other relatives and friends. Marion was a long time member of Central College Presbyterian Church as well as Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9. Services will be held at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN funeral home at 515 High St., Worthington OH, 43085. Visitation will be from 4-5 PM Tuesday December 18 and funeral service at 5 PM with Pastor David Redding officiating. A private innichment will be held at a later time at St. John’s Episcopal Church columbarium in Worthington, OH. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to: F.O.P Foundation (www.fop9.org), or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).US Army Veteran.
