C. B.Tankersley Jr., age 85, formerly of Valley Mills, passed away on December 24, 2019, in a Waco, Texas.
Memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Internment will be at Valley Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
C. B. was born on August 23, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Charles B. and Jewel (Messer) Tankersley Sr. He grew up in East Texas, and his amily moved to Valley Mills in 1951.
C.B. graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1952, and married Janice Turner in January of 1953. Two children were born to this union. C. B. Worked for Owen Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for 33 years, retiring in 1993. As a young man he enjoyed riding bulls and horses. As an older man he loved riding mules and watching his grandkids play sports.
Survivors include son, Steve Tankersley and wife Brenda of Robinson; daughter, Jani Bryant and husband Roland of China Spring; brother, Jon L. and wife Jan of Moffat: grandchildren, Janessa Santry and husband Jonathan of Speegleville; Jenna Tankersley and fiancee’ Wick Percivill of China Spring; Blake Bryant and wife Kristie of West; Brandon Bryant and wife Amanda of Wylie; and Bryant of Lake Whitney: four great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cole Bryant of West, MacKenzie and Allison Bryant if Wylie.
