Peter came to this country in 1855; Louise in 1853, both settling in Manitowoc County. The pair married 4 May 1866 in Manitowoc, had 5 children that lived past infancy, and divorced 6 Feb 1882. The children stayed with the mother after divorce. Peter remarried to Mary Shoemaker (spelling from Peter's pension papers) 3 Jan 1883 in Milwaukee, WI. Mary was formerly married to Orin P Brownell with 4 children.
