Our beautiful, beloved and brave Takoda Hayden Collins reached for the hand of the Savior on Dec 13, 2019 as he was led to his Heavenly home to be with God.
He was only 10 years old at the time of his passing but his life has already touched the hearts of so many. His life will be the catalyst to make well needed improvements to policies impacting children rights in the Montgomery County area.
The last elementary school Takoda attended was Horace Mann Elementary. The teachers and staff took a special interest in his welfare and sought to help. He was an active little boy who loved to play.
His memorial was held, Jan 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm Sunday at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Family members remembered Takoda as smart, funny, outgoing, helpful and very loving.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Robin Collins, grandmother Kelly Sandoval, uncle Steven Crabtree, a host of family, relatives and friends.
Absent from the body is present with the Lord. Our beloved Takoda is safe is Gods loving care.

Takoda Collins’ maternal grandmother who lives in Wisconsin, says her family fought through court for years for access to the boy but were denied or ignored.
Court documents state “Takoda was kept in a dirty, locked, dark attic and abused daily over the course of four years. The interviews also revealed that Takoda was held underwater and gasping for breath prior to succumbing to his injuries.”
Takoda died with bruises and cuts all over his body.
Sandoval said Takoda will be cremated and sent back to Wisconsin.
“We love him, he is loved up here by everybody and greatly missed. Everybody is doing nothing but crying and wanting him with us,” the grandmother said.
