Born in Frackville, July 16, 1920, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Wagner Willard. He was educated in . Frackville schools.
He was a decorated Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European and Pacific theaters of operation. His decorations and citations included the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award, the American Theater Service Medal, the Asian-Pacific Theater Service Medal, and the Eastern-American Theater Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
He was a retired blasting foreman in area mines and for many years operated a clothing stand at the Hometown Farmers Market.
He was a member of William Perm United Methodist Church, the Ramblers Traveling Club, Disabled American Veterans and Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 53 years, the former Kathryn E. "Kitty" Fell; three sisters, Clara Guman, Kathryn Kapusnick and Jean Bareika; a brother, Irvin.
Surviving is his wife of nine years, the former Theresa Kunash; three daughters, Audrey Williams, Brandonville, Jane Evans, Conyngham, and Kathryn Lindner, Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepsons, Steven Bell, Ashland, and James and John Bell, both of Michigan; two stepdaughters, Jeanine Huff and Luan Bush, both of Michigan; a sister, Elsie Salu-kas, Hegins; three aunts, Jean Fitzgerald, Bertha Zimmerman and Emma Brassington, all of Frackville; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah. Lay Pastor Dean Knott of the William Perm United Methodist Church and the Rev. David Seymour of the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, will officiate. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah
