Norwalk-Roy G. Abel, 75, of Leland Rd., a former resident of vermilion, died suddenly yesterday morning in the Robert Knott home, Berlinville, where he was visiting.
Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Mr. Abel was born Oct. 6, 1886 in Vermilion Township and had lived in the area most of his life. he moved to Norwalk four years ago.
Mr. Abel worked for many years for the Nickel Plate Railroad as a water pumping station operator, retiring several years ago.
Mr. Abel's wife Nancy, died in 1916. Survivors are a son, Edward, Vermilion; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received after 7 p.m. today in the Edward M. Fisher Funeral Home, Vermilion. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Earl T. English, pastor emeritus of the Vermilion Congregational Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
