Mr. Kohlbeck was born February 4, 1888 in the Town of Cato, son of the late Frank and Margaret Ripp Kohlbeck. He married Ruth Reitmeyer May 5, 1914 in St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. In his early years he was a mason by trade. Prior to moving to the Village of Whitelaw, he farmed in the Town of Cato. He was also a janitor at St. Michael church and school for 10 years. Mrs. Kohlbeck preceded him in death November 7, 1977.
Survivors include two brothers, George of Rt. 2, Cato and Ferd of Whitelaw and nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Joseph, Anton, Frank and John and two sisters, Mary Denk and Theresa Brunner preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Saur Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday until the time of service. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday by Father Heymen.
