Archie "Pop" Folmar


Archie "Pop" Folmar, born March 20, 1936 to Wade and Dixie (Hughes) Folmar, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 in Tyler. He was 83 years old.


A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2020 at Frankston City Cemetery. Bro. George Folmar will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Frankston.


Visitation will begin on Sunday, January 5, 2020 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Archie's family from 4 to 6 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.


Pop drove a cab in Tyler and Jacksonville and worked for Nichols Kusan for 20 years. He was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing in his free time.


He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola Mae Folmar; daughter, Laney Phillips; grandson, Jarred Phillips; and his brothers and sisters.


Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Wayne Folmar and wife Debra of Jacksonville, Kenneth Folmar of San Antonio and Michael Folmar of Jacksonville; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Blake of Jacksonville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
