Funeral services for Johnnie Jean Kelly Pigott of Tylertown, MS will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Knoxo Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Nace and Bro. Don Armagost officiating. Burial will be in the Knoxo Cemetery.
Mrs. Pigott passed away at Forrest General Hospital on Sunday, January 5, 2020. She was born April 11, 1934 to the late Lena Leard and Edward Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, soulmate, love of her life Carey M. Pigott, Sr. and her brothers and sisters.
A graduate of Columbia High School, she moved from Kokomo to Knoxo in 1953 where she and her husband built a life for themselves and their children on the Pigott family farm. Known as Miss Johnnie, she had a strong work ethic and was a gourmet cook who loved to prepare food for her family and friends. Miss Johnnie had her own personal "style" and enjoyed news, current events, music, and her favorite sports teams (especially Mississippi State and the Dallas cowboys). She was a member of the Knoxo Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Carol Pigott and Patsy Elesha Pigott; son Carey (Gail) Pigott; granddaughters Kelly (Caleb) MacKenzie, Paige (Jeremy) Sommers, and Breana Pigott; grandson Hunter Pigott; great-granddaughter Priscilla Jane Sommers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers are Hunter Pigott, Caleb MacKenzie, Jeremy Sommers, Jeffery Duvall, Shannon Smith, and Simon Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Alford and Lee Newell.
Visitation will be at Knoxo Baptist Church on Sunday January 12, 2020 form 12:30 PM until service time at 2:00 PM.
