Kenneth Virgil Bissell was born to Lois Elizabeth (Murray) and Claude Henry Bissell on April 30, 1917, at Mutual, Oklahoma. Kenneth entered eternal rest on November 5, 2006, at the Afton Care Center, Afton, Iowa, at the age of eighty-nine years, six months, and eight days.
Kenneth's mother died in 1925 and so Kenneth was raised by his grandparents in Massena, Iowa, from the age of eight years old. Kenneth graduated from Massena High School with the class of 1935.
On January 9, 1940, he married Mary Margaret Devereaux in Corning, Iowa. Kenneth was a farmer and lived in Adams County, Iowa, most of his life. Kenneth and Mary lived on a farm in northwest Adams County for a few years. Then, they moved to their current home in northeast Adams County in 1944.
Kenneth was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
