Dingler services set for Monday

LANETT -- Mrs. Agnes Evelyn Dingler, 83, of Lanett died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at Alvista Healthcare Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. (EDT) at Lanett First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Dingler is survived by her son, Michael Allen Dingler of Lanett; three grandchildren, Marc (Lisa) Dingler, Candace Dingler and Joel (Kellie) Dingler; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dingler and Katlyn Dingler; two special friends, Jimmy and Mary Alsobrook of Lanett; and her special pet, Baby.

Born Nov. 18, 1919 in Sylacauga, Ala., Mrs. Dingler was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens with over 50 years of service. She was a member of West Point Stevens 50 Year Club. She was a member of Lanett First Baptist Church where she was very dedicated. Mrs. Dingler was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Allen Dingler.

The following biographical sketch was presented when Mrs. Dingler was inducted into the WestPoint Stevens Fifty Year Club:

Mrs. Agnes W. Dingler was born Nov. 18, 1919 in Sylacauga, Ala. She worked without a break in service in the Spinning Department at the company's Lanett Mill, Lanett, Ala., from July 6, 1936, until her retirement in July 1986. She was a spinner until May 10, 1974, and a roll picker until July 9, 1986. Mrs. Dingler's father, four brothers, husband, son and grandson have worked for the company. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Lanett. In her leisure time, she enjoys watching television, cooking and working in the Homebound Department of First Baptist Church.
