The body of Edwin LaDuke Allhands, 54, was found floating in the flood-swollen Wabash River about 3:20 PM Thursday. His death was apparently due to drowning, but Fountain County Coroner has made no official ruling. Mr Allhands was a sign painter and employed at Carl's Pool Room. His residence was with his stepmother, Mrs Addie Allhands, at 411 E Pike St, Attica. He was born near Newtown to Plez Allhands and Lena LaDuke Allhands, graduated in 1934 from Attica High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Surviving with his stepmother are a half-brother, Jack Allhands of Attica, and two sisters, Mrs Helen Prenkert of Attica and Leona Weilage of Jeffersonville
