Brenda Bart Abshire
MAY 18, 1960 – JANUARY 5, 2020

Brenda Bart Abshire, age 59, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, in Houston, Texas, at Oakbend Medical Center with Danny by her side.
Brenda was born in Houston, Texas, on May 18, 1960. She attended Waltrip High School and later got her Real Estate License.

Brenda met and married Danny Abshire. They were married for 15 years. They remained close friends even after their divorce. Danny was by her side, cared and looked after Brenda daily after her stroke.

She loved her family and her many friends. She was full of life and lit up a room when she walked in. She loved music of all kinds, going to concerts, and going to the beach as often as possible. She was very artistic, loved arts and crafts, taking photos, and had a green thumb – she could grow most anything.

Brenda was a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo serving on the School Art Committee for 23 years. She became a Lifetime Member three years ago. One of her highlights was going to the WCBBQ cook-off each year.

She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Oil & Gas industry for many years and for Keller Williams Memorial as an agent for several years.

Brenda is survived by her parents Kay and Louis Bart, brother Kenneth Bart, sisters Diane Bart, Sherry Calmes and husband Craig Calmes, nieces Audrey Ashley Napoleon, Andrea Ford and husband Chris, Jennifer Restivo and fiancé Garry Reagan, Shiara Cook and husband Joshua, Michelle Calmes, Brittany Ellis and husband Brandon, five precious great nephews, Uncle Jerry Bart and wife Crescencia, Uncle Max and wife Mary, and her long-time friend, Shirley Strong.

In lieu of customary floral tributes, contributions in Brenda’s memory may be directed to the HLSR Educational Fund to benefit the School Art Program, Attn: Jamie Voskamp, P. O. Box 20070, Houston, Texas 77225 or to a charity of one’s choice.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer on Monday, January 13, 2020. Tammy Heinrich of Chapelwood United Methodist Church will officiate.

Brenda is at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be missed.
