Baxter Baker, Jr. was the son of Baxter Baker, Sr. and Sarah Hill, he was born in Tennessee, and moved with his parents to Illinois, were he lived and died, we find him in the 1860 census of Browning, Schuyler County, Illinois.

He first married Mary unknown and then married Nancy Luttrell on the 23 of Nov 1832 in Browning, Schuyler, Illinois. She was the daughter of Shelton Luttrell & Sarah Ann Bryant. Nancy was born on the 29 of Dec in 1815 in Lincoln County, Tennessee and died in Astoria,Fulton County Illinois.

Daughter Mary Ann Baker was 1837 and she married Gabriel B "George" Hollingworth June 21, 1856 in Schuyler County, Illinois. She had three sons: Warren Ross Hollingworth, Gabriel B Hollingsworth Jr., Walter Waymond Hollingsworth. She died after 1900 in Colorado. Gabriel Hollingsworth Sr. is buried with first wife. Elizabeth Huff.
