Daughter of Martha Elizabeth Cox and John S. Foster

Lucina moved to Texas, and to Timpson, in 1840. She married Allen Hammer on February 9, 1854, in Shelby County, Texas. Allen Hammer enlisted on February 19, 1862, as Private, Company H, 11th Regiment, Texas Infantry, CSA. The 1870 census lists Allen Hammer, 45; his wife Susan, 38; and children Frances E., 16, Luna E., 14, Austin, 12, Allen, 10, Nancy L., 8, Foster L., 6, and Jesse B.

Survivors included her daughters, Louann Elizabeth (Mrs. William Henry) McCarver, Nancy L. (Mrs. C. E.) Bogard, and Mrs. F. C. Ramsey of Timpson, and sons, Alston or Austin M. and Allen K. Hammer of Timpson, and Foster L. Hammer of Weldon.
