Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Abelseth, 71, Minot, widow of Norman Abelseth, died on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in her home.
Betty Ayers was born on July 13, 1938 in Easton, MN, the daughter of Robert and Theresa (Hassing) Ayers. She was raised and educated in Easton, where she graduated from high school in 1956.
Betty was once married to Robert Hensel. They made their home in Minnesota. She was once married to Gerald Johnson. They made their home in, North Dakota.
Betty was united in marriage to Norman Abelseth on November 9, 1976, in Minot. Following their marriage, they continued to reside in Minot, where they raised their family. Norman died on December 7, 2000.
Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and gardening in addition to her love of caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.
Surviving family includes: children, Beverly Hensel, Robert Hensel, and Brenda Hensel, all of Billings, MT, Charles (Melody) Johnson, Debbora (William) Gabel and Penny Beeter, all of Minot; grandchildren: Charity, Ashly, Brandon, Brittney, Becky, David and Lisa; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Clyde) Ioeger, Longmont, CO and Margaret Danks, Mapleton, MN; brothers, William (Peggy) Ayers, David (Nancy) Ayers, Cheyenne, WY, Donald (Sara) Ayers, Oklahoma City, OK, Edward (Jessie) Ayers, Cheyenne, WY and Robert Ayers, Pine, AZ and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ayers and Theresa Steuber, husband, Norman and sister, Kathleen Rundel.
At Betty's and her family's request, a public service will not be held.
