Thelma I. McClenny

Thelma I. McClenny, 85, Topeka, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at a Topeka nursing home.Mrs. McClenny worked for the Kansas State Department on Revenue for 25 years before she retired in 1975.

She was born July 1, 1913, in Culver, the daughter of Benjamin and Ida Bennett Mayo. She lad lived at Culver, WaKeeney, Eaton, Colo., and Valley Falls before she moved to Topeka in 1950.
Mrs. McClenny was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Helena Chapter No. 210 of the Order of the Eastern Star, both of Topeka.

She married Duane McClenny on April 2, 1932, at Lawrence. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" McClenny, Topeka; a daughter, Beverly Lieber, Topeka; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. McClenny will lie in state from 11 a.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Contributions may be made to the Thelma I. McClenny Memorial Fund at Second Presbyterian Church, 210 N.W. Menninger Road, Topeka, 6661.
