John Power Andrews, 84, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at CMC Charlotte. A devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather is lovingly remembered for his smile, dry wit and amazing sense of humor. John was born in Little Rock, S.C., Dec. 23, 1930, to Loyd and Gladys Andrews. Soon after his discharge from the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, John met and married the love of his life, the former Barbara Ann Propst, in 1955. He moved his young family to Charlotte in the late 1950s and began his career. John is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Ken and wife, Lorie, and Greg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Tyler of Greensboro; and brother, Bill Blythe of Columbia, S.C. He was loved by so many and leaves behind numerous family members and friends. A service to celebrate John's life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20, at McGill Baptist Church, 5300 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, NC 28027, with Dr. Steve Ayers officiating. A private interment will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McGill Baptist Church.
