He was born on May 29, 1929, in Cement City, Michigan to Clarence O. and Hazel A. (Reeser) Arnett. Donald married Rose Mary Hahn-Zeluff on October 2, 1982, in Adrian, and she survives.
Donald lived his early life in Cement City before moving to Adrian 35 years ago. He was employed at Tecumseh Products for 44 years, retiring in June of 1994. He was a former member of Cement City Baptist Church and a current member of Clark Lake Community Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Donald enjoyed working on cars, snowmobiling, traveling with friends on his motorcycle, traveling to Alaska and he also enjoyed Square Dancing. He and Rose Mary enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending time at their cabin in Harrison.
Surviving besides his wife Rose Mary are two daughters, Cheryl Irvine of Jackson, Sue (Daryl) Hatt of Jackson, one step-daughter, Mary (Albert) Flores of Adrian, two step-sons, Michael (Laurie) Zeluff of Riverview, Michigan, Bart (Char) Zeluff of Adrian, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Herb Flint of Brooklyn, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Michael Arnett, one son-in-law, Eric Pelham, three brothers, Lafe Arnett, Hantzel Arnett, Paul Arnett, two sisters, Mary Warschefsky and Grace Flint.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, with Pastor Drew Woods officiating. The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. Friday, until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Full Military Honors will be performed by the Hudson American Legion, Hannan-Colvin Post #180.
Cremation will follow the services.
