Mrs. Wyse was before marriage Miss Marilla Riser and was born November 13, 1845, at Etheridge, Saluda county, where she was reared. She was a faithful and devoted member of Ebenezer Lutheran church of more than thirty years and was a woman of the highest type of Christian character, greatly beloved by those who knew her. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary five years ago.
Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children; Mrs. V. Y. Bozer of Gastonia, wife of the Rev. V. Y. Bozer, D. D., pastor of a Lutheran church there, Mrs. John T. Burton of Alligator, Miss., Joseph H. Wyse of Pearsisburg, Va., Fred C. Wyse of Spartanburg, Mrs. Clarence E. Norman, wife of the Rev. C. E. Norman, a missionary of Fukuoka, Japan; three brothers, J. H. Riser, J. E. Riser and A. P. Riser, all of Saluda county; a sister, Mrs. T. F. Etheridge of Saluda county.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at Ebenezer Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. P. D. Brown, D. D., pastor. Interment will follow in the family plot in Ebenezer Lutheran churchyard.
