He was born in Madill, Oklahoma on May 27, 1944, to Cecil Browning and Rachel Virginia Brooks Higginbotham. He married Patricia Clearwater in Ardmore, Oklahoma in June 1964. They had four children together and raised them in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the United States Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Independence CV-62 during the Vietnam War.
Butch was a very loyal provider for his family, kindhearted, never met a stranger, special to many, and a friend to all. He was the best Papa, with a heart the size of Texas and a love deeper than the ocean. His crystal blue eyes would sparkle anytime he talked about his grandchildren or just cheering for them on the sidelines at every event. Anyone who knew him knew he truly enjoyed driving a truck for 26 years, his 34 years at Bell Helicopter, his time served in the US Navy, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Browning Higginbotham and Rachel Virginia Higginbotham; three sisters, Shirley Keeton, Ruby Lancaster and Edna Day; daughter, Robin Anthony; and two grandsons, Austin Trae Anthony and Scott Browning Higginbotham.
Left to honor and remember him are wife, Patricia Higginbotham; son, Roderick Higginbotham; daughters, Michelea Adams and husband, Danny and Shannon McKeown; 12 beautiful grandchildren; 14 adorable great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe and Tony Higginbotham; and a slew of nieces, nephews and friends.
