One Hundred Years Ago
. . . Seth Gates of Warsaw died November 10, 1847. He was the third settler in Sheldon coming there in 1806 from Herkimer county. At that time there was no one living on the Big Tree road between his home and the Genessee River. Capt. N. Fargo was then commencing improvements where Warsaw Village now stands.
