Joseph arrived in Vietnam 29 August 1967 and was assigned to E Troop, 17th Calvary, 173rd Airborne Brigade, USARV.
Joseph was providing security escort on a truck convoy when the truck he was on hit a hostile road mine. Joseph died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the body.
Survived by his parents, Joseph Daniel and Eileen L Daughton Sr of 326 Aloha Drive, San Leandro, California, and his brother; Dennis J Daughton.
