Born in Carroll County, Va., on January 6, 1925, to the late Thomas and Fannie Brady. After leaving Carroll County, she lived in Danville, Va., for 20 years. She then married Franklin Nicely in 1960 and moved to Travelers Rest, S.C. Mrs. Nicely was employed with Greenville General Hospital and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Vivian "Vicki" Savage; brothers, Verlyn Brady, Howard Brady and his wife, Virginia; sister, Lila Branscome and her husband, Julius; sisters-in-law: Margaret, Lucille, Mary Jane, and Nan Brady, Virginia Stack, Betty McCartney, Ann, Sallie, Margaret, and Carol Savage; brothers-in-law: George and Robert Savage; her "other child," a niece, Deirdre Weeks, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Also close friends who worked with her at Greenville General, especially Juanita, Ike, Hayward, and Glenn.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Melvin, Arlis, and Donald Brady.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran, Greenville, S.C., and there will be a service in Hillsville, Va. on Thursday, June 30, with burial at Bluemont Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from noon to 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran. The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, P.O. Box 1353, Greer, SC 29652, or your local church or animal shelter. The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
