Obituary for Mrs. E. Sue Hinkle

E. Sue Hinkle, 91, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 2:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope, Indiana.

Mrs. Hinkle was born April 20, 1928, in Hoopeston, Illinois, the loving daughter of Newton and Estella Batson Ade. On April 19, 1950, Sue married Hiram D. Hinkle; he preceded her in death February 16, 1990.

Mrs. Hinkle was a C-4 teacher at Columbus North High School retiring after several years of service.

Mrs. Hinkle was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church and Order or Easter Star Columbus Chapter #339. She was a life member and the oldest female member of Columbus Moose Lodge No. 398.

She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and knitting.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Joe) Richardson of Indianapolis and Tracy (Gary) Beatty of Columbus; a granddaughter, Shelby (Ethan) Davis of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Weston and Wyatt Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hinkle was preceded in death by her parents, Newton and Estella Ade; her husband, Hiram D. Hinkle; a sister, Naomi Irvin; and brothers, Charles H. Ade, Leonard I. “Tommy” Ade and Emmitt M. Ade.
