Word was received yesterday by George E. Lee that his grandmother, Mrs. Adeline A. Lee, died at the home of her son Thomas S. Lee, near Benton Harbor, Mich., at 2:40 o'clock Sunday morning, April 9, 1916. The body will be brought to Springfield for burial, arriving here over the C & A road at 7:30 o'clock this evening and will be taken to the home of George E. Lee, 1405 South Fourth street. The funeral will be held at the First Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services will be conducted by the pastor, The Rev. T. N. Ewing.
Mrs. Lee was born in Shutesbury, Mass., July 5, 1823. She came to Springfield when about seven years old, with her father, Sullivan Conant, who made the trip overland with his family all the way from Shutesbury. She was married to William Lee and to this marriage four children were born: Laura, Thomas S., Elizabeth and Edward, of whom Thomas S. Lee alone survives. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Dillon, of Rochester, Ill. After the death of William Lee she married her brother-in-law, Thomas B. Lee.
Mrs. Lee reached the advanced age of 92 years, 8 months and 4 days, over eighty years of which was lived in Springfield. She joined the First Methodist church, of which she was a devoted member the remainder of her life. She was known and loved by a large circle of friends. After the death of her second husband she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John T. Capps. At Mrs. Capps' death Mrs. Lee then made her home with her son, Thomas S. Lee, who for the past four years has lived in Michigan.

The body of Mrs. Adeline A. Lee, grandmother of George E. Lee, who died Sunday morning at the residence of her son, Thomas S. Lee, near Benton Harbor, Mich., arrived in this city at 7:30 o'clock last night over the C & A railroad and was taken to the home of George E. Lee, 1405 South Fourth street.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock this (Tuesday) afternoon at the First Methodist church, the Re. T.N. Ewing, the pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
