James Horace McDonald, 89, of Quitaque died Wednesday July 25, 2007 in Lubbock. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 28, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Quitaque with Brother Vestal Blakley and Brother Jeff Addison officiating. Burial will follow in Flomot Cemetery under the direction of Chancellor Funeral Home.

James was born Oct. 19, 1917 in Wheeler County, Texas to John W. and Bessie Putman McDonald. He married Elizabeth Reed on Feb. 22, 1941. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Quitaque.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and seven sisters.

James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Slaton; three sons, Lynn McDonald and wife Doris of Idalou, Lee McDonald and wife Katie of Pampa, Lonnie McDonald and wife Roberta of Littlefield; one daughter, Patsy Hilbers and husband Gerry of Idalou; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
