Graduated at Yale College in
the year 1753. He entered on the
work of the Ministry, which his
feeble Health obliged him soon
to relinquish. For 70 years he was
devoted to the theory & practice of
Physic, distinguished alike for his
industry, discretion, skill & Lear
ning. He died June 16, 1826, aged 92
years. No Physician was more suc
cessful in his day, none more belo-
ved & respected. His elevation to
the Presidency of the Medical
Society of Connect is evidence of
the veneration & respect of his
brethren. In his youth he embraced
the faith of the gospel. Uniform
piety adorned his profession. Hope
in the Savior was the support of
a life of great labour & anxiety sus
tained him when witnessing the
disease & death of others was his
