Harold J. Meyers, 64; Retired for P&LE Railroad – Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Nicholas Church for Harold J. Meyers, 64, of 240 Helena Drive, who died of a heart ailment Wednesday morning in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Meyers was born February 4, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph A. and Mary Lasher Meyers, and had lived in Struthers all his life. He was clerk for the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad and retired in 1988 after working 40 years. He was a member of the church, its Altar and Rosary Society, its Holy Name Society, St. Nicholas Church Seniors, Immaculate Conception Church Seniors, P&LE Railroad Golf League, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3538, and the American Associate of Retired Persons No. 3105. He served in the Army in World War II in Germany and received the Purple Heart. Besides his mother, of Youngstown, he leaves his wife, the former Kay E. Kral, whom he married Oct. 16, 1948; a son, Harry Jr. of Powell, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Berdy of Austintown and Mrs. Reenie Frank of Poland; two brothers, Bud of Youngstown and Robert of Largo Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
