Joan Hile, age 84, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 11:35 am at Parkview Huntington Hospital. She was a certified librarian at Roanoke Library for 24 years retiring in 1997. She then went back to assist at the library. Joan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke, Friends of the Library, Roanoke American Legion Post #160 Auxiliary, and delivered homebound meals. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Joan was born December 20, 1935, in Logansport, a daughter of John and Maryann (Pasquale) Lombardi. She married Wilbert Lee Hile Sr. and he passed away in 1987. She is survived by a daughter Jenni (Bruce) Etzler of Greenville, South Carolina, 2 grandsons Jason Hile and Richard Hile Jr. a granddaughter Tonya Hile, 2 brothers Gerald “Jerry” (Cathy) Lombardi and Don (Barb) Lombardi both of Logansport, and a sister Delores Wolfe of Logansport. She was preceded in death by 2 sons Richard Hile and Wilbert Hile Jr., 5 brothers Pat, John, George, Joe, Mike Lombardi, 7 sisters Rose Mohler, Mary Zeider, Josephine Dickerson, Pasqualina Beecher, Angeline Binney, Louise Raderstarf, Judy Hayes, and 2 infant siblings Theresa Lombardi and Joe Lombardi.

There will be no services. Interment will be at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.

Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Roanoke Library c/o Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, IN 46783.
