Herbert Wayne Forthman, of Dixon, was born on April 16, 1937, at Crocker, a son of Herbert Lowell and Grace Mathilda (Campbell) Forthman, and departed this life suddenly in the St. John's Hospital, Lebanon. Mr. Forthman had attained the age of 69 years, nine months, and one day.
Mr. Forthman was united in marriage on July 26, 1982, at Waynesville to the former Carolyn Ruth Burgess. He was preceded in death by his father in 1949; his mother on March 6, 2006; and one sister: Anna Lou Forthman. Mr. Forthman was a member of the Arlington Lodge NO. 346 A.F. & A.M., Dixon and the 513 Operating Engineers Local, Jefferson City for 25 years. He had worked as a mechanic for Hauck Oil Company. He loved working in his shop, being outdoors, working on his old cars and trucks and watching western movies.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Forthman include his wife: Carolyn Forthman, Dixon; one son: Aaron Forthman, Dixon; two daughters: Deanna Schmidt, Crocker; Teresa Bell, Lake Ozark; two stepsons: Walt Todd, state of Florida; Glen Todd, state of Arizona; two stepdaughters: Cheri Heywood, state of Florida; Stephanie Sinden, Dixon; 10 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; one great-grandghild; and many other relatives and friends. Fond and precious memories of Mr. Forthman will long be remembered in the hearts of his dear family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Forthman at 1:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2007, in the Long-Gilbert Funeral Home, Dixon, with Pastor Duane
