Death of Representative Foote’s Wife.
The death of Mrs. Foote, the wife of Representative Wallace T. Foote of Port Henry, N.U., in New York Thursday was a shock to the many friends of the family. Mrs. Foote was a lady of unusual beauty, and was extremely popular in social circles. Mrs. Foote was Miss Mary S. Witherbee, the only daughter of Mrs. Sophia Witherbee of Fort Henry, who died but recently. She was educated at the Ogontz School, near Philadelphia, and had traveled abroad. Having been an invalid for a year past, she was unable to be with her husband in Washington during his congressional term. Mrs. Foote was in her twenty-fifth year.
