ELSIE MARIE HARRIS-ANDERSON-HENRY
October 3, 1936 ~ January 31, 2020 (age 83)

Elsie Marie Harris-Anderson-Henry, 83, passed peacefully from this life on January 31, 2020, surrounded by cherished and loving family and caregivers.

Elsie's story began on October 03, 1936 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Her proud parents were Andy and Callie Harris. Elsie has nine siblings that have preceded her in death.

She spent her entire life living in Broken Bow. She loved her hometown.

In 1954 Elsie married WD Anderson of Mt Herman. Together, they had four children, Tanda, David, Keith and Steve. Their children all believe that WD was the love of Elsie's life! After their divorce, and later in life, Elsie married Bill Henry, of Broken Bow. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Elsie lived a quiet life that allowed her to develop a love for quilting. She proudly displayed her certificate for winning the People's Choice Quilt Award at the Idabel Dogwood Festival. Elsie's humble nature would never allow her to brag about herself or her beautiful quilts, but you can rest assured that her kids and grandkids will be snuggled up in her quilts for many years to come.

Elsie was a beautiful Southern woman that cooked the best meals! Her family will cherish memories of sitting around her table and enjoying a delicious meal.

She loved to can and she was famous for her special "MeMah's Pickles" recipe. Every year, the entire family would patiently wait for her to share MeMah's Pickles. Most every family member, would never admit that they have stolen a jar or two, of pickles from other family members. The competition was fierce to own those delicious pickles!

And if she had a word of advice, we are sure that she would ask you to serve Jesus with your whole heart and in November 2020, vote for President Trump.

Elsie was preceded in death by her son, David Anderson.

She has left, to cherish her memory; one brother, Ray Harris and Ann of Broken Bow; her daughter, Tanda Stowe and Troit, of New Boston, Texas;

Sons, Keith Anderson, of Mt. Herman and Steve Anderson and Shirley, of Mt Herman.

Her children will forever be grateful that God chose Elsie to be their mother!

She was very proud of her eight grandchildren, Shelley Stowe, Callie Stowe, David Anderson, Cassie Rethman, Keith Anderson, Hannah Bowers, Drew Anderson and Bryer Anderson. They brought their MeMah great joy. Those grands gave her eighteen great grandchildren.

She became the matriarch of the family and treasured visits with many, many nieces and nephews.

Elsie fought a determined and courageous battle with cancer. She was loved and cared for by Encompass Home Health of Idabel.
