Albert M. Montgomery, age 89, resident of Willard, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home in Willard, with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 1, 1916 in Foraker, Ky to the late Silas and Jane (Jackson) Montgomery and had been a resident of Willard for 55 years. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. he also was a member of the Electrician Union and a past member of the Willard Conservation League. He retired after 30 years at the CSX Railroad in 1981. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church in Attica, OH. He served as Richmond Township Trustee for many years. He was an avid Willard basketball fan. He loved gardening, farming, fishing, building bird houses and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Reva (Picklesimer) Montgomery, whom he married Oct. 13, 1940; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Bernard R. and Barb Montgomery, Samuel D. and Linda Montgomery and Randy L. and Gayle Montgomery all of Willard; and two daughters and son-in-laws, Ruth and Carl Lund of Norwalk and Joyce and Steve Riter of McComb, OH; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Jane (Jackson) Montgomery and was the last of a family of 14 children.

Visitation will be Friday from 7-9 P.M. and Sat. from 10-11 A.M.at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Sat. at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Joseph Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery In New Haven, Ohio. Memorials, instead of flowers, may be made to the Richmond United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
