BLACKBURN Rev. Ralph Wayne Blackburn, age 90, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 1, 2007. Born February 26, 1917 in Canton, Ohio. Graduate of Cleveland Bible College (now Malone College). Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and ordained in the Evangelical Friends Church, Eastern Region. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Geraldine, parents Arthur Ray and Minerva Blackburn, sister Rose Ellen McMillen, brother Blake and grandson John Ralph White. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Blackburn; grandson, Kevin White; and great-grandson, Johnathon White. Ralph served as a missionary in the American Sunday School Union in Marietta, Ohio until 1954, then pastoring 3 churches in the Evangelical Friends Church for a total of 27 years. Ralph then became the Pastor of Visitation for the Grove City Church of the Nazarene for 17 years. Celebration service 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road, where his visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to his service Monday. Burial will be in Greenville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grove City Church of the Nazarene Visitation Ministry or Vista Care Hospice.
