Mrs. Melancon was a native of Franklin and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Lyman Joseph Melancon of Duson; two sons, Tommy Melancon and his wife, Marlene, and Mark Melancon both of Duson; one daughter, Rhonda Melancon of Duson; two brothers, Donnie Daniels of Patterson and Rev. William “Bill” Ruskoski of Rayne; seven grandchildren, Christopher Melancon, Mandi Wagner, Megan Melancon, Tod Melancon, Jennie Ransom, George Bailey, Mary Derouen, and Amanda Holladay; and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lynn Melancon.
