Pres.J.D.T. McAllister left
for Salt Lake City on Monday, in
response to a telegram announcing
the sudden death of his sone, Rich-
ard McAllister. The deceased was
found dead on the stairs of the
White House hotel at 4:30 o'clock
Sunday morning by the night clerk.
the coroner, after examining the
body, said he did not think and in-
quest was necessary. An autopsy
was performed by County Physi-
cian Mayo, and all the organs were
found in fairly healthy condition.
It is stated that McAllister called
at the hotel shortly after 2 o'clock
and asked for a room, but the clerk
told him the rooms were all occu-
pied. He then asked permission
to rest in the office for awhile.
The clerk says he remained there
for about an hour and then went
out. After leaving the hotel, he
was seen going east on Second
South and at about 4:30 he return
ed to the hotel. The clerk heard
him fall down stairs and he at once
hastened to his assistance. Befor
help could arrive the man was dead.
The deceased was 38 years of age
and had lived in Salt Lake the
greater part of his life. He was a
son of Jno. D.T. McAlisster and
Angeline S.G. McAllistoer. His
funeral was held yesterday from
the home of his sister, Mrs. Gab-
bott, 1460 south State Street.
