Joanne L Argabrite, 76, of Parkersburg, passed away February 6, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Eugene, Oregon. She is the daughter of the late Elizabeth Cronin Bailey.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1962. While working and raising a family she attended Parkersburg Community College and received her Associates in Applied Science and her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1981 at Glenville State College.

She has worked in accounting since 1966 and opened her own Bookkeeping Service in 1977. She pursued her Certificate of Accounting license and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1984. She was a member of the AICPA and the West Virginia Board of Accountancy of CPA's. She enjoyed taking care of her clients over the years and in many capacities. So many of them became more than just clients to her.

She was also owner of a marble manufacturing company in Reno, Ohio called Jabo, Inc. which produces industrial, craft and play marbles.

She was a member of the Rotary Club of Parkersburg for many years and served as a past board member for SW Resources.

Joanne was an avid reader, enjoyed line dancing for many years, shared her love of travel with her family and friends and saw many places that were inspired from her love of books, spent many evenings and weekends on her river lot relaxing and boating in the summer.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Argabrite whom she married in 1961, her daughter Carla Argabrite of Ash, NC, her son Carl "Clinton" Argabrite of Parkersburg. She is the proud grandmother of Joshua Argabrite (Sarah), Carl "Casey" Argabrite II and Joseph Argabrite all of Parkersburg. She is known as T Tacker to great granddaughters, Parker and Alexandria Argabrite. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Sholes, Julie Jones and one brother Raymond Terrell Walker.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Bailey.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from Noon until service time.
